The ambitious BAU series by Takashi Suzuki, which was acclaimed at the Dutch photography fair “Unseen”, comprises images capturing various forms made by combining colorful sponges. By using a black background, moreSuzuki highlights the “building” and “structure” (both are definitions of bau) of these forms, which in their proliferation and various patterns, divorces sponges from their conventional meaning. For the current exhibition, images best suited to the IMA gallery space will be selected from the series, which includes more than 500. You will choose your favorite from amongst those.
